2. Intellectually stimulating, interesting
3. Arousing curiosity (that’s to pull the casual glancer in)
4.  Worth the investment of money and time (that’s the “What’s in it for me?”)

self-portraits and portraits part 2

Tip 1. Think about your motivation and emotions: Blankly staring at the camera rarely gets good results. Be silly, don’t be afraid to over-act. The worst that can happen is that you fill up your memory card with useless photos; but you might also find yourself with a proper gold-nugget of a self portrait.

Tip 2. Have fun with it. Be sexy. Be yourself. Be awesome. Be different. Be creative. Whatever you do, have fun with it. That’s part of the point, after all.

Tip 3. Use props! Are you a dad and a rocker? Bring your kid and your guitar. Are you a photographer? Add camera gear. Painter? Paint . You get the idea.

This is my favorite environmental portrait because the background of pumpkings make it look good and the kid is adorable.

This is another one of my favorite environmental photos because the flowers and the dry grass behind.

This is my favorite casual portrait becausethe little girl is just laying in her bed smileing with a apple in her hand. Its simple but good for a casual portrait.

This is another of my favorite casual portraits because the kid is sitting on the chair caml with his pacifier in his mouth.
This is my favorite self portrait because of the creativity and art it shows the picture in her hand keeps her going in real life. She used another photo in her face to put over hers.

This is another one of my favorite self portriat picture because they made into a colleague. Different hairstyles different hair.

Iam going to be shooting with Jaelene , and we are going to be shooting outside in the courtyard or by a tree.
iam going to make this shot succesfull by using the rules of photography, and using creativity.

Shortlist Warm Up

This is my favorite lanscape photo because the water looks amazing it makes me feel like iam there. It also uses the rules of photography simplicity, framing, lines, and balance.
This is my favorite travel photo because the stairs in the photo make it seem like its leading you to a new adventure as traveling does too.
This is my favorite fashion photo because its simple but classy and it makes it look unique just like fashion should be.
This is my favorite family & friendship photo because it shows two lady's and the babygirl beside her to protect her . meanwhile she looks up at them wondering so many stuff she doesnt quite yet understand.

This is my favorite portrait because the girl in the picture looks so calm like the ocean does . The wind is blowing her hair like the wind blows the waves.
My favorite photo of documentary is this one above. because these childrens look at the window looking for freedom, for a future out of that home.

This is my favorite garden & plants photo because the orange flowers make the dark watery background so bright and a life. The effects in this picture are wonderful.

This is my favorite wild life photo because the way the eye looks at the world makes it look incredible. The fly right on top of the eye makes it even better.

This is my favorite creative photo because with him standing on the wire with ballons is pretty cool. You can see the ballons reflecting in the sky and the sun shining bright.

This is my favorite action photo becauseyou can feel the energy and see the action in the background.

Extra Credit : Fireworks

1. http://www.lightstalking.com/fireworks
2. In the website i saw pictures of different fireworks. Some in boats, over the city, in the carnival and over the bridge. They were big and full of different colors, and had good views.
3. I learned that you can pop a firework in a boat.

a. I picked this photo because i thought it was neat to see fireworks coming from a boat.
b. i see lines, simplicity, framing, and balance.
c. Mr. Mago ICU

Portraits and Self-Portraits

This is my favorite self-portrait photo.

This is my favorite portrait of Annie Leibovitz.

A good picture will have good creativity and be unique. It will follow the rules of photography. The art will show and inspire people. The person in the picture which can be you should be shown as the main art of the picture or the theme. A good picture should reflect you, who you are as a person.
i personally would like to take a self-portriat photo because its easier to represent and express yourself .

Abandoned amusement parks

1. Okpo Land, South Korea because accidents actually happened there and they havent moved anything its all how it was.
3. Hospital, Store, woods, six flags, disney land.
4. OR.jpg
5. I think it would be fun to document this location because its a old strange hospital.
We could take pictures of different rooms in the hospital, their tools, beds, equipments.
we would probably find doors broken, walls scatched up, graffti, creepy stuff. its haunted so it can be fun.
6. i would need a ticket to east L.A. , money, a camera i wont need permission or anything to go in its unlocked.

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

A. Cloning over people in a portrait is a terminal offense at most U.S. daily newspapers, image manipulation.
Brian Walski combined elements of two photographs of a British soldier, taken moments apart, in order to improve the composition of the image. But instead he got fired from his job and lost credibility.

B. Its not real and you are using two photos to make one photo better.
i think this is the least unethical because they just changed her teeth.
And it actually makes them look better.

I think this photo is unethical because its two pictures put into one.
They show the soldier telling him to sit down from the first picture and the guy up with his baby from the second picture.

National Geographic Warm-up and Photo Manipulation and Ethics

This is my favorite photo because the effects and how it shows two settings.
It kind of seems like your in two places at the same time so its pretty cool.
Also it looks like you can actually see the wind outside.

3. I would take a photo of the sunset because its beautiful.

ethics in fashion photography

1. They made her neck longer, her eyes wider and bigger, her lips bigger, and her hair look like it has more volume and darker.
2. No because it looks nothing like the girl naturally does they changed everything it lowers girls confidence by looking at this picture thinking its real when its all fake.
3.  I think pictures should show things and  people naturally.
4. Its okay if they change the little stuff and you still look like yourself. Like the lighting and cropping is okay to change
5.  In fashion photography they make you look perfect, in photojournalism its natural. Photojournalism is more realistic while fashion photography is fake.

American Soldier

2A. The most powerful image in the slideshow i think is the one that has a shirt that says "Kristen" and "I Love You , Come Back To Me ! "
2B. The sequence of photos that is most powerful is "life in Iraq" because it showstheir life and what they do.
2C. The images work together to tell a story by showing you their different sequence they go through.
3A.Present tense.
3B. The captions tells you what is happening to the picture or the meaning.
4. Chapter 7 picture 9.
Robert is eating when his teams gets called for a mission he runs to see what is going on.

Cool Video

I think its a nice video, its pretty cool. They could improve on the focus it was kind of blurry and the people at akins can put more excitement into it more school spirit.
Baby Bites the cat
Baby Jay just bit the cats tail while he looked to the side, while the cat wished he could bite his leg off.
The mommy on the side teached him to do this and bite like if it was a delicious kit-kat candy, why , because shes a freak.
Spelling error.
These dumb workers finally realized they spelled "school" wrong its not shcool losers.
They obviously dint go to school if they dont even know how to spell it, they probably taught their to cool for school, good thing they aint blonde.

Call 911 it is an emergency
In Halloween Town the poor jacked up pumpking is throwing up all the nasty stuff inside of it.
In the back you saw the pumpking's little friend Dandy dancing like a gorilla , while he called 911, singing the pumking is dying song .

Great Black & White Photographers Part 3

1. The flowers caught my eye how their pretty but look hurt at the same time.
I see those dried dead heavy white roses.
I Smell the odor of dead roses from months ago.
I hear myself breathing with the silent white roses.
I taste the odor of these dead roses in my hands.
I Feel the soft dried roses. Their heavy but so light at the same time.

2. I see a forest and a part of the moonlight across from the pond. The Trees close to the moon.
I Smell the soggy grass & the trees.  The terrible odor of the pond.
I Hear the trees swaying back and fourth. And my voice when i shout from the pond.
I Taste the strong odor of the dirty pond.
I feel the trees swaying back and forth around me. i feel the touch of the moon from above. And lastly the touch of the water.

3. i would like to create a powerpoint of Edward Steichen.

Fixed Photo Shoot Reflection

1. I Learned How The ISO, Shutter Speed, & F-stop change the brightness and the effects of the picture.
2. I Noticed the difference in the light & brightness.
3.Yes because the pictures that have a lower iso have lower light too & the ones with a higher iso have a more light.
4.  The picture that had more light had a higher ISO & the ones with less light had a lower ISO.
5. The lower the focus the lower the number of the F-stop.
6.
ISO 400: Shutter Speed 1/250 sec: F-stop 5.6
Zoomed out, Shady.

Africa Black & White

1. I liked the powepoint it had some nice pictures of the animals.
My favorite photo was the one with the two zebras it makes them the subject its so simple but the zebras lines pop out it makes them look beautiful.
3. Nick Brandt uses a pentax 6711.
His reason for taking these photos is to memorialize the vanishing natural grandeur of East Africa.
Brandt's hope is for people to undestand that animals, humans, non humans are equal. And They used to exist in the wild but because of us not many do now. He shows them in the state of being where they no longer are." To me, every creature,  humar or nonhuman, has an equal right to live, and this feeling, this belief that every animal and i are equal, affects me every time i frame an animal in my picture."

academic Shoot Reflection

1. The challanges i encountered was trying to find people doing their work not paying attetion to us or posing. Also it was difficult to take pictures of the rules happening like framing.
2. Focus was the technical aspect i most tought about because i was trying to make the person or thing be the subject of the picture and at the same time follow the rule.
3. I would focus more in the rules and subject of the picture.
4. I would focus it the same.
5. The easiest rule would probably be balance.
6. The hardest would be framing.
7. Hmm probably framing.

Rule of thirds

I followed the rule of thirds somewhat good i could of done better.
The subject is the guy sitting down reading a book.
I think it is clear he is the subject but then again there is other people taking him away from being the topic of the picture.
I could of made him be more at the corner and made sure they were not in the picture just him.

Mergers

I did well in taking a taking a picture of a merger happening because the guy in the left is cut off.
The subject is the girl reading her book and touching her lip.
I say yes, it is clear shes the subject because the picture is focused on her.
